What Our Cases Are Made Of
Every Pebble & Caramel case is made from PLA and PBAT plant-based polymers with a bamboo fiber binder. These are bio-based materials — derived from plants, not petroleum. The case has a matte frosted finish, a flexible and impact-absorbing structure, and precise cutouts for all ports and buttons. It may carry a faint natural scent from the bamboo fiber content.
On Biodegradability — The Honest Version
PLA and PBAT are materials designed to biodegrade under industrial composting conditions. That means high heat, controlled humidity, and the specific microorganisms present in an industrial composting facility. Under those conditions, they are designed to break down.
They do not biodegrade meaningfully in a landfill, a home compost bin, or a standard waste bin. No phone case made from these materials will. Any brand that tells you otherwise is not being straight with you.
We don't claim this case is compostable (that requires third-party certification we don't hold). We don't claim it's plastic-free (PLA and PBAT are technically bio-based plastics). We don't claim it breaks down wherever you throw it.
What we do claim: it's made from plant-based materials, not petroleum plastic — and when it reaches an industrial composting facility, it's designed to break down rather than persist for centuries the way a conventional plastic case would.
Wireless Charging
The case is MagSafe® wireless charging compatible. Because it doesn't include a visible MagSafe ring, it must be laid flat on a wireless charger rather than magnetically snapped onto a MagSafe mount.
Production
Each case is printed on demand — your design is applied specifically for your order.
